The Matrix (1999) - Many sci-fi flicks have toyed with the idea of human reality not being real, but The Matrix — widely regarded as one of the greatest science fiction films ever — made it almost believable. Starring Laurence Fishburne and Keanu Reeves, this classic told the story of a computer programmer/hacker who's allowed to crossover into an alternate reality. Not only did the film up the ante for sci-fi storytelling, it changed the way action movies were shot. On the 16th anniversary of the groundbreaking film, let's catch up with the cast of The Matrix. Keanu Reeves - Known for such classics as Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure and Speed, Reeves found his next most memorable role starring as computer programmer/hacker Neo. Reeves reprised the trenchcoat-wearing character for two more Matrix sequels (plus the video game). Since then, he has starred in the 2014 action drama John Wick and is currently in post-production of two upcoming films, The Whole Truth and Daughter of God. (Photos from left: Alberto E. After spending most of his career as one of Hollywood's most respected film actors, the screen veteran has made the transition to hit TV shows like CSI and Hannibal. It is rumored that he will return to movie theaters in an untitled Batman-Superman project. Currently, Fishburne stars as Pops in the hit ABC sitcom black-ish. (Photos from left: Andrew H.
