He was shot and killed at only 19.

Daytime talk show host Wendy Williams is drawing sharp criticism over her remarks after the July 5 shooting death of TikTok star Swavy.
On a July 7 episode of Williams’ hot topics segment, she said, according to The Wrap, “I have no idea who this is. Neither does Norman. Neither does one person in this building.”
She pointed out he had more social media followers than her then continued, “So here he is, he's 19 and he was murdered Monday morning.”
After going into unconfirmed details about the case, she added, So Swavy is now dead. All those followers. Yeah, that's really tragic — only 19 years old.”
Swavy, whose real name is Matima Miller, was found with a gunshot wound in Wilmington, Del., on July 5 and was later pronounced dead at a hospital, according to Delaware Online.

The family released the following statement on Instagram, “He was taken away from us due to a senseless act of gun violence. Unfortunately, due to legality we are not able to provide much information on the events surrounding his passing.”

Police are currently investigating, according to a statement from the Wilmington Police Department.

But social media did not take kindly to Williams’ comments, considering them poorly timed and insensitive. An army of social media users clapped back hard at her, making it clear that she overstepped her bounds when she made her remarks.
