5 Reasons Why Nick Cannon Should Not Be Underestimated

Nick Cannon has built a media empire.

Ever since he debuted on Nickelodeon as a teenager, Nick Cannon has been a fixture in the media. As a writer, rapper, producer, actor, stand-up comedian, Cannon has been racking up wins across the board for years. He’s currently the host of Fox’s The Masked Singer, and if that’s not enough, Cannon opened a vegan soul food restaurant in Los Angeles and a line of headphones that has brought in $80 million.

Now that Cannon is expecting twins for the second time, his personal life is flourishing as well. Time and time again, Cannon has shown the world that there’s nothing that can’t do.

Here are five Reasons Why Nick Cannon Should Not Be Underestimated.

  1. He Created Wild ‘N Out

Nick Cannon’s sketch comedy and improv show Wild ‘N Out is the gift that keeps giving to the culture. Created by Cannon in 2005, Wild ‘N Out is one of the longest-running comedy shows on T.V. The show has launched the careers of several comedians, rappers, and A-list celebrities flock to part in all the craziness. Because of the show’s popularity, Nick Cannon took the show on the road with Wild ‘N Out Live. It has been renewed for a 16th season.

  2. At 17, He Became the Youngest Staff Writer in Television History

Before he turned 18, Nick Cannon was making major moves behind the scenes in television entertainment. He landed his first television gig as a writer and then a series regular on Nickelodeon’s hit variety show, All That. As a writer on All That, Cannon became the youngest staff writer in the history of television. His success led to creating his show, The Nick Cannon Show, which aired in 2002.

  3. He The Host of His On Syndicated Radio Show

Nick Cannon has always worn many; from hosting T.V. shows to acting, to producing and writing, he seemingly can do it at all. But he leveled up once again and became the host of his own nationally syndicated radio show. The show, Nick Cannon Mornings, airs on Power 106 KPWR daily from 5 AM-10 AM. Nick Cannon Morning’s is the number one morning show in L.A., proving that he’s a boss in every form of media.

  5. He Had a Billboard Hit

Although his rap skills are always the butt of jokes on Wild N Out, Cannon has accomplished what many artists cannot claim: A major hit. From his self-titled in 2003, Nick Cannon’s “Gigolo” became his breakthrough hit. The single peaked at number nine on the Hot Rap Tracks chart and number twenty-four on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. While it’s his only hit, his talent can’t be denied.

  6. He’s Battling Lupus.

One of Nick Cannon’s greatest attributes is that he’s a fighter. Since his lupus diagnosis became public in 2012, Cannon has been one the most well-known advocates of bringing awareness of the disease. “It was explained to me that it was an autoimmune disease, and, if I managed it properly and took the proper medicine, that it wasn’t life-threatening,” Cannon says. “I had to be extremely careful, get on the proper diet, get the proper rest, and take care of my body, and I’d be able to fight it.”
