‘The Equalizer’ Reboot Will Star Queen Latifah

The original series aired in the 1980s.

The Equalizer is coming back to television. But this time, the series will star Oscar nominee Queen Latifah.

The original Equalizer aired from 1985 to 1989 and starred Edward Woodward as Robert McCall, a former secret agent who uses his skills to fight for justice for everyday people. Denzel Washington starred in the film version in 2014.
According to Vox, Queen Latifah will star in the reboot as Robyn McCall and she will also executive produce. The series will premiere right after Super Bowl LV on Sunday, February 7 at 10 p.m. ET. Starting February 14, the series will air Sundays at 8 p.m. ET/PT. 

Latifah celebrated the news on Instagram, writing, “I’m excited to share that @TheEqualizerCBS premieres on Sunday, Feb. 7th after the Super Bowl! You ready?”
