‘Insecure’ Season 4: Five Best Moments From The New Trailer
Fresh off of her leading lady turns in The Photograph and Love Birds, Issa Rae is back to save our Sundays with season four of her hit series, Insecure.
At the end of season three, Issa was in rarified air finding herself leaving behind an unfulfilling job (and men) to pursue joy and purpose on her own terms. As a part-time building manager she now has the foundation to pursue passion projects, but that doesn’t mean life is easy.
In addition to Issa’s independence, Molly (Yvonne Orji) is navigating her new relationship, Lawrence (Jay Ellis) is back in the picture with his new boo and Tiffany (Amanda Seales) is adjusting to motherhood.
Here are five of our favorite moments from the trailer:
POPPIN MOLLY
Molly, (who appears to be cosplaying Gabrielle Union in Bring It On), is sharing how things are going with her new lover, Andrew (played by Alexander Hodge). She tries to dismiss it as just “all good sex and witty banter,” but Issa (in what looks like a School Daze homage) shuts her down in mid chomp: “Hold up…He dicks you down, makes you laugh, What’s the problem? ‘Cause I don’t hear it.”
EX TO THE NEXT
Lawrence has a new girlfriend named Condola (played by our own Twenties star, Christina Elmore) and she is working with Issa! If you’re thinking the world is small, so is Condola, and as she shares that thought Issa nervously agrees: “So small. Where are all the good men at? Where are yo exes? Lemme run up on them like you running’ up on mine!” C'mon Issa, focus on the bag!
TEAM PLAYER
Issa’s raunchy ride-or-die Kelli (Natasha Rothwell) is back and in peak form at Issa’s Block Party Mixer. An older, bearded gentleman has caught her eye and Kelli is ready to risk it all. “Spencer over there offered me five figures for one night of passion. Yeah, I’ll take one for the team. Just say the word…” and she proceeds to demonstrate what the word means and we are here for all of it.

IN-SECURITY
We don’t know who this very excited security guard is but we hope to see more of him this season. And Kelli's middlefinger to the photographers is a whole mood.
DOUBLE TROUBLE
One of Issa’s patented mirror freestyles goes left when her tether stops her in mid bar to let her know “I got shit going on over here too…it’s like your life but worse.”
OUCH! As long as she didn’t say “Candyman” three times we good though.
Season four of Insecure drops on April 12.
