The Release Date For ‘Black Panther II’ Has Been Announced And The Twitterverse Is Going Crazy
It’s no secret that a sequel has been in the works for Black Panther. The 2018 Marvel film was too successful to end with just one film. But now, fans know exactly how much time they have 'til they can return to theaters in their Wakana-inspired outfits.
On Saturday (August 24), Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige took to the stage at Disney’s D23 Expo in Anaheim, California along with BP director Ryan Coogler to announce the release date of Black Panther II.
According to the duo, the second movie of the Black Panther saga will debut in theaters on May 6, 2022.
While that may be a long way out, social media still did not cease to relay their excitement.

The release date reveal comes as a bit of a surprise if you’ve been following what those potentially involved in a sequel have been saying publicly as of late. In July, Feige responded to the speculation of a Black Panther II, saying: "The honest answer... is that is pure rumour and speculation, because Coogler is just only in recent weeks sitting down at his keyboard and beginning to outline the movie. It's early, so nothing is set yet in any way that far."
The first Black Panther, which hit the big screen in February 2018, won three Oscars, each for original score, production and costume design. After hitting theaters, Black Panther has grossed more than $700 million.
As to who’s returning in front of and behind the camera, it’s still too early to confirm.
