So Sad: Loni Love Shares Heartbreaking Details Of The Night Tamera Mowry Discovered Her Niece Was Missing
Fans of daytime talk show The Real know that Loni Love and Tamera Mowry-Housley's friendship runs deep, and this was further proven during the comedian's description of what happened the night the former child star learned her niece was murdered.
As it has now been confirmed, Tamera's niece Alaina Housley, 18, was one of the victims in the Thousand Oaks bar mass shooting in California. Since the confirmation of her niece's death, the Sister, Sister star has been absent from The Real. However, her co-host Loni Love recently detailed the moments leading up to the unsettling news as she was present with her throughout it all.
"She called me at 1:30 a.m., and I was dead asleep, and I thought she had butt-dialed me because we had had dinner like three hours prior to that," she said. "And then she called me again and then I knew something was wrong because she doesn't call me that late."
Recalling Tamera's disposition, the comedian shared that she went to her home after noticing she was in a clear panic.
"She was frantic," she continued. "I immediately went over there to her and we were looking at the reports. Adam went to the actual crime scene 'cause he went to go look for her and we just started getting pieces of information. Tamera was calling every hospital she could because we were holding out hope that maybe she was at the hospital."
Giving a play-by-play of the moments leading up to Alaina's murder, as told by her college suitemates, Love explained that it all was a matter of chance as the late student happened to sit down while her friends, who eventually escaped the scene, stayed on the dance floor.
"Then, we heard from one of her suitemates, and the suitemate said everybody got out," she said. "They were on the dancefloor line dancing. This was college night. That's the reason they were there. So they allowed 18 and up to be there just for this particular night... According to the suitemates, they were still line dancing, Alaina went to go sit down at the table and it was just a matter of seconds, they said. They got out the window. They don't know what had happened to Alaina."
She shared that after Alaina's parents arrived, the officials confirmed to them that she was, indeed, one of the victims in the shooting.
