The Internet Leaps To Defend A Former ‘Cosby Show’ Actor Who’s Getting Bullied For Working At A Trader Joe’s
Earlier this week, news surfaced that Geoffrey Owens, best known for his role as Elvin Tibideaux, and the husband of Sondra Huxtable on The Cosby Show, was spotted working at a Trader Joe’s in Clifton, NJ.
According to Trader Joe’s shopper, Karma Lawrence, she told the Daily Mail she spotted the successful actor behind one of the checkout counters wearing a Trader Joe's staff shirt with his name tag.
"I was just in Trader Joe's and I said to my wife, I said, 'Wait a minute, that's the guy from The Cosby Show,'" Karma Lawrence told the popular news source.
Our sentiments exactly.
After searching online, her suspicion was confirmed.
"I pulled up a site on the Internet to look at a picture of him and said, 'That is him,'" she confirmed. "I have never seen him at Trader Joe's before. I was getting a bunch of groceries and he wasn't really looking at anybody, but he said, 'Have a nice day.'"
After the news was released and photos were placed on the internet, trolls began what they do best—judge.
While some were quick to place judgment on the 57-year-old actor, others came to his defense setting the record straight with the perfect question: “What’s wrong with a Black man making an honest living?”
