Sheree Whitfield Just Got Some Really Bad News About Her Prison Bae
Sheree Whitfield, during Sunday night’s episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, shared with the ladies that her locked up boyfriend, Tyrone Gilliams, was more than likely set to be released from prison, later this year.
However, based on new reports, it appears as his request for an early release was completely shot down by New York federal court.
According to Radar Online, the reality starlet’s dreams were crushed when it was revealed that Gilliams, who was sentenced to 120 months in 2013 on securities fraud and wire fraud charges, won’t be released early after all.
Back in 2016, an attempt to challenge the legality of his sentence was denied. He followed up with a motion for reconsideration in January of this year. Radar reports that, in the documents, he claimed that he was not actually a “leader” in his scheme, the government “improperly withheld” evidence, and his counsel was “ineffective.”
In addition to these allegations, he begged the court to release him on bail “during the pendency of federal habeas corpus proceedings.”
To his disappointment, however, U.S. District Judge Deborah A. Batts declined his latest attempts in a March 20 filing, with her reasoning being he offered no new evidence.
With this new information, Gilliams is now set to be released from prison on November 14, 2022, making his remaining sentence just more than four years.
