Hello, Charlie: Lupita Nyong'o Could Be Joining A Major Action Film Reboot
Lupita Nyong'o is gearing up for the release of her highly anticipated film Black Panther where, judging from the previews, she kicks some serious butt, and it seems as she may transfer those fighting skills to another major flick as she's reportedly in talks to join the upcoming Charlie's Angels reboot.
According to Deadline, the Oscar-winning actress is in "early talks," alongside Twilight star Kristen Stewart, to serve as the lead billing for the Sony-produced film, set to be directed by Elizabeth Banks.
Charlie's Angels stands as one of the most iconic female-led action franchises of all time, with the introduction of the series (1976-1981) starring Kate Jackson, Farrah Fawcett, and Jaclyn Smith. The story reached its peak iconicity in 2000 when Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore and Lucy Liu played the fierce trio in the smash hit film of the same name.
The reboot is set to hit theaters on June 7, 2019.
