Sanaa Lathan is fully committed to her role in the upcoming Netflix film Nappily Ever After. Based off of Trisha R. Thomas’ best-selling novel of the same name, Sanaa has been using social media as her hair diary during the film’s production and her latest entry has the whole ‘net buzzing.

Days after showcasing her lengthy natural hair in an afro, she ditched her trademark brunette tresses in favor of blonde highlights. As if that wasn’t enough, Sanaa stunned when she revealed that she’d shaved off all of her hair. Proudly rubbing her shaved head Sanaa Lathan beamed, “I’m just doing my reveal. I cut it all off. It feels like it’s so light I could fly away.”

Sanaa Lathan will be reuniting with Shots Fired and Love & Basketball director Gina Prince-Bythewood, who is responsible for the most recent rewrite of the film’s script. for the leading role in the new film that’s based off of Trisha R. Thomas’ best-selling novel of the same name.

According to Variety, “the film follows a woman with a seemingly flawless life - a great job, a handsome boyfriend who’s a doctor, and a meticulously maintained coiffure. But after an accident at the hair salon, each of these things starts to unravel, and Violet begins to realize she was living the life she thought she was supposed to live, not the one that she really wanted.”
