2 Chainz is ready for his close up. The Atlanta native is making a return to the small screen by way of a forthcoming Law & Order: SVU episode. The scenes were shot in New York City Wednesday (April 10).

2 Chainz previously appeared as a sleepy version of himself on the CBS comedy 2 Broke Girls back in February, but this latest role calls for him to step into someone else's shoes. He will play a man named Calvin "Pearlie" Jones.

NBC hasn't allowed anymore details — aside from the character's name — to be released, but thanks to his Instagram account we know who the 35-year-old will be sharing screen time with. The "No Lie" rapper shot scenes with series stars Ice-T and Mariska Hargitay.

Law & Order: SVU will not only beef up 2 Chainz's acting resume, but it's earned him a new friend. Hargitay and the artist formerly named Tity Boi got along so well that he gave her a nickname: "My new boo."

No word yet on when the episode will air.
