[Here We Go Again] Josh Gordon Fails Another Drug Test
Josh Gordon just can't seem to get a grip on his substance-abuse problems.
Fox Sports reported Monday that the already suspended Cleveland Browns wide receiver failed yet another drug test last month. The site reports that Gordon's early-March sample tested positive for weed. Although his marijuana levels fell below the 35 nanogram threshold, the diluted sample made the test positive by NFL regulations.
Upon learning the news, Gordon didn't seem to be too concerned, though.
It can't help that ESPN additionally reported that Gordon is living with embattled ex-Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel, who isn't a stranger to substance-abuse issues himself. Why? Manziel is not the company you want to keep right now, Josh.
Apparently, this is after Manziel told TMZ that he's living with Denver Broncos star linebacker Von Miller, who took to his Instagram account and used a Step Brothers-inspired meme to deny that claim in a lighthearted way.
But back to Gordon... what a shame that the man can't stay clean.
After making the Pro Bowl in 2013, having led the NFL with 1,646 yards receiving, Gordon pleaded guilty to driving while impaired in July 2014. After testing positive for weed, the star receiver was suspended for the duration of the 2014 season, although the penalty was reduced to 10 games.
He failed another alcohol test last year with his multiple violations of the league's substance-abuse policy having wiped out his 2015 season as well.
Although he has formally requested that NFL commissioner Roger Goodell reinstate him, this latest setback isn't going to help his cause. Neither is living with Manziel.
Since he and Manziel like hanging out so much, though, perhaps they should enter rehab together and keep clean for good.
Otherwise, they're just wasting away their lives.
