The Internet was a pleasant place to be yesterday (March 9), as people around the world took to social media to show some love in honor of Biggie Smalls.

March 9, the day that he was tragically murdered back in 1997, has become known as “Biggie Appreciation Day,” which we hope has the legendary rapper smiling down on us as we remember his legacy with fondness, gratitude and respect.

Diddy in particular had an emotional day yesterday as he confided on Instagram while generously sharing some never-before-seen footage dear to his heart. The clips include the legendary rapper in the booth recording one of his biggest hits, “Hypnotize,” and some interview footage where B.I.G. speaks fondly of Puff.
