Omar From “The Wire” Joins “Community”
When The Wire ended in 2008 after five seasons on HBO and two Emmy nominations, fans sighed, shook their heads and continued to reminiscence on their favorite characters, especially Omar. Viewers liked Omar because of his dichotomy: he was a stick-up man who actually believed in right and wrong.
Now, TV Guide reports the actor Michael K. Williams will join the third season of the hysterical TV show Community. His character will be a first-time biology teacher who is recently released from prison.
Of Williams’s new character, who is said to appear on the show for at least three episodes, the creator describes him as “a deeply intense character. I want to use that as a comedic tool. He's going to be very dignified guy in a way that has no presentation to it."
The show’s new season begins September 22. In the meantime, TV lovers can catch the intense, 2-time Image Award nominee on the gritty Atlantic City-based, bootleg-themed Boardwalk Empire.
