Pras Claims ‘Bar Mitzfa’ Wasn’t a Lauryn Hill Diss Track

The Fugees member said he was frustrated on behalf of their fans.

Pras doesn't harbor any hard feelings toward his Fugees bandmate, Ms. Lauryn Hill, for their recent tour cancellation, but he feels frustrated on behalf of their fans.

Earlier this month, Hill called off the eagerly awaited Fugees’ U.S. reunion tour dates, citing low ticket sales. She attributed the poor sales to unnamed media outlets that she believes exaggerated last year’s concert cancellations. According to Hill, the “clickbait headlines” fostered a climate where fans hesitated to purchase tickets for the 2024 tour, which was scheduled to start this Friday.

Shortly after the cancellation was announced, Pras dropped a new track titled "Bar Mitzfa," where he appeared to express his frustrations."Don’t blame me, blame her, she made the mess/ Not another fucking penny, is what I told ‘Clef/ Trotting the globe with the bros, playing dominoes," he rapped.

Pras recently set the record straight in an interview, saying, "I love Lauryn. She’s like a little sister; there’s no way we could ever have any beef."

When asked about his new track and his overall response to the situation, Pras clarified that his feelings are more about empathy for their fans than about Hill herself. “Everyone’s frustration has been building up. This is not something that just happened overnight,” he added. “My frustration was for the fans. They are paying their hard-earned money to see you."
