Ray Rice Still Hanging on to Hope for NFL Return
February 15 will mark two years since Ray Rice punched his then-fiancee, now-wife Janay Rice, inside of a New Jersey hotel casino elevator.
Although Rice won his appeal and was reinstated to the NFL in November 2014, no team took a chance on the former running back during this past 2015 season.
Having not played a league game since December 2013, Rice continues to train and is still hanging on to hopes that there's an NFL franchise out there that will give him one last shot.
"Honestly, I’m never going to give up," Rice told TMZ Sports on Sunday. "You don’t want to give up something you started. You want to finish the right way."
The good news for the ex-rusher, who turns 29-years-old on Friday, is that NFL sources told the celebrity news website that Rice is getting "real interest" from multiple teams in the league.
Having that interest translate into an official offer and contract is another story, though.
Will Rice get his second chance and can he still contribute to an NFL squad?
Rice only rushed for 660 yards, while receiving for another 321 yards with four touchdowns and two fumbles in the 2013 season.
