After nearly 20 years and 11 albums in the rap game, Snoop Dogg is looking for a change of pace. Last weekend the West Coast icon announced plans to release an album of reggae songs under the alias Snoop Lion, and now he's giving fans a taste of the new direction with new single "Lalala."
Produced by Diplo's dancehall fusion outfit Major Lazer, "Lalala" finds the Doggfather singing along to a chilled-out reggae groove.
Lest observers write Snoop Lion off as a joke, Snoop has created all new social media accounts to go along with the persona. Not to mention that the Dogg has begun locking his signature plaited mane.
"Sing wit me now!" he recently wrote on Twitter, posting a link to download "Lalala" on iTunes.
Snoop Lion's first album, Reincarnated, doesn't yet have a release date.
