Beanie Sigel Apologizes to Jay-Z
The days of Beanie Sigel dissing Jay-Z are over, for now at least. For more than a year and a half, the former Roc-a-Fella artist has publicly come out and criticized his old friend and boss in records and in the press. But now, in an interview with XXLmag.com, Beanie Sigel says he's sorry for it.
"I got caught in the moment and put my feelings out there. I should have never done that," regrets Beans, who began calling Jay-Z out in 2009. Since then, Sigel says he's recorded more than an album's worth of material dissing the Roc. But unless some mysterious force leaks it, the music dissing Jigga will stay under lock and key. "I was explaining the whole Roc-a-Fella shit and a lot of feelings were going to get hurt. I was airing shit out. Just the homies could listen to that when they come into the studio. I couldn’t put that out. It wouldn’t sit right with me," he says.
Sigel admits that his decision to wage a verbal war against Jay was wrong. "What Mike Epps say? 'Gangstas f**k up too,'" he said. "Whatever I felt this dude Jay did wrong to me, it can’t outweigh the one thing he did do for me—he gave me an opportunity."
