WWE Seeks an African-American Babyface
The WWE is looking to add an African-American babyface to their lineup of wrestler-merchandise. According to the Wrestling Observer, the network wants to increase its African-American fan base.
Among the candidates to consider is Kofi Kingston, a current WWE wrestler. Kingston is a Ghanaian native who wrestles on the mid-card level.
Another potential star is Mark Henry. Dubbed “The World's Strongest Man,” on WWE, Henry has a tremendous following.
Also up for consideration is Big E Langston. Langston’s quirky personal life and bizarre humor sets him apart on the WWE roster, and he has been moving up the fight cards.
While John Cena remains the undisputed WWE icon, the company hopes that its selected African-American star will increase their Black demographic similar to how Rey Mysterio has done with wrestling fans in the Latino community.
