BET Awards 2023: 4x Lola Brooke Slid On A Record
Don’t play with Lola Brooke because she’s coming with all the smoke. Hailing from Brooklyn, the land that birthed many greats like Jay-Z, Biggie Smalls, and Lil Kim, Brooke is continuing to put on for the borough with her gritty lyrics, appeal, and attitude, which are some of the traits of a promising rapper.
Coming out the gate swinging on her hit single, “Don’t Play With It,” with fellow New York rapper Billy B, the song has been played since its debut and has the world in a chokehold. The record was released in 2021 but garnered massive media attention the following year, sparking a remix with Yung Miami and Latto.
Co-signed by some of the best in the business and a deal with Arista Records, the young emcee is on her way to claiming even more stardom than she already has.
With a nomination under her belt for “Best New Artist” at this year’s BET Awards, let’s look at four records the artist slid on that made her a nominee.
“So Disrespectful”
And she disrespected the beat, respectfully.
“Here I Come”
She came, conquered, and left no crumbs.
“Da Girls” With Ciara and Lady London
Gritty, yet sexy at the same time.
