Ariana Grande Releases Four New Songs
Pop's newest "it girl," Ariana Grande, is on a roll. After the instant successes of her last three releases, "Problem," featuring Iggy Azalea, "Break Free," featuring Zedd, and "Best Mistake," featuring Big Sean, the singer has decided to premiere four new songs ahead of the upcoming release of her sophomore album My Everything.
Her newest batch of songs was released via MTV, where they are currently streaming. Taking a departure from her usual bubblegum pop formula, the Billboard cover girl is getting more in touch with her sensual side, delivering smooth vocals while collaborating with some of music's biggest producers and artists.
"Love Me Harder," the first track of the bunch, was previewed on Grande's Instagram prior to its full release and features R&B singer The Weeknd.
"A Little Bit of Your Heart," a piano-led ballad, sees the budding star share the pen with One Direction member Harry Styles, who helped her write the cut.
"We Try," written by "Halo" songwriter Ryan Tedder, features an addictive hook that will be sure to get stuck in your head after a few listens. "If you know to be my love / maybe you can be my baby / hold me close under the covers / kiss me boy and drive me crazy," Grande sultrily sings over the slinky '90s-inspired beat.
Perhaps the most outstanding of the quad — and which will be sure to prolong the infamous Mariah Carey comparisons — is the powerfully produced and delivered "By My Baby," featuring Norwegian DJ-producer Cashmere Cat.
My Everything is slated to hit stores on Monday, Aug. 25.
