Durand Bernarr Celebrates Grammy Nomination With New Single ‘Impact’

The single marks Bernarr’s latest since his 2024 "READY!" collaboration with Charlie Vettuno.

Durand Bernarr is preparing himself for a year of wins with his new single “Impact.”

On Tuesday, January 28, the R&B-soul vocalist released the aforementioned electronic funk track. Written by Bernarr, GAWD, b.kae, and Sierra Hill with production from Stanley Randolph, Poe Leos, and Bijan Davis, “Impact” also comes ahead of Bernarr’s next “auditory adventure,” per a press release, meaning an upcoming project.

The Cleveland-born artist’s 2024 EP, “En Route,” is up for Best Progressive R&B Album at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards, which will be held on Sunday, February 2. Also competing in the category are Avery*Sunshine (“So Glad to Know You”), Childish Gambino (“Bando Stone & the New World”), Kehlani (“Crash”), and NxWorries (“Why Lawd?”).

Last November, Bernarr briefly explained to Baller Alert how “En Route” shaped him artistically, as seen around the 3-minute mark of the video below. “I think the beauty about this particular project and the two that I did before is, I wasn't trying to work by myself. And that's the beauty in numbers, is I can bounce ideas off of people. I don't feel like I'm in a block and that can also bring things out of me while still being true to myself.”

In 2019, Bernarr was a featured artist on the 2019 Kaytranada album “Bubba,” which won the Grammy for Best Dance/Electronic Album in 2021.
