Ice-T Responds to Fan Who Claims 'Law & Order: SVU' Is Too 'Woke'
Ice-T clapped back at a fan criticizing “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” for being too "woke."
On Tuesday (August 27), the rapper-turned-actor responded to an X (formerly known as Twitter) user criticizing the long-running TV show's storylines. The interaction followed Ice-T sharing a photo from the set of its 26th season. The fan commented on the photo, asking, "Did they revert ‘SVU’ to its original format? It seemed to go woke."
Ice-T fired back with, “What the F is woke? Lol. Like I give a f**k.” The 66-year-old is known for his role as Sergeant Odafin “Fin” Tutuola on the show since 2000. He is the second longest-running character after Olivia Benson, who Mariska Hargitay plays.
Earlier this year, at the "Law & Order: SVU" 25th-anniversary season celebration on the red carpet in New York City, Ice-T revealed how he and his wife, Coco maintain a healthy relationship after 22 years. "That flame has to stay lit," he said. "When that flame goes out and you're not really attracted to each other anymore, you have to address that very quickly because it's something that's necessary."
He continued, We have to be teammates, not opponents, not assets, not liabilities. I value what she brings to me, and I think it's vice versa. We appreciate each other.”
