Faith Evans and Husband Release Statement on Divorce
Last week, news broke that Faith Evans had filed for divorce from husband/manager Todd Russaw. As per usual, the couple says the spilt was mutual and that their focus will be on their kids.
Now the couple has released the following joint statement:
“The dissolution of a marriage is a difficult time in anyone’s life. However, after a great deal of thought and careful consideration, we have come to the decision to end our marriage together. We will both remain committed to parenting our children and will also continue to support each other’s professional endeavors. We consider this a private matter and we will not make any further statement regarding the matter. We would appreciate the press respecting the privacy of our family, particularly our children, as we attempt to handle our situation with respect and dignity.”
Evans and Russaw married in 1998, but the couple’s relationship is said to have been troubled for years. Evans faced more trouble last year when she was arrested for a DUI. The singer is currently on probation.
