Lil Baby Won’t Accept No Less Than $100K For A Verse: ‘Respect My Hustle’
Lil Baby has undoubtedly been one of rap’s breakout stars this past year. The Quality Control Music artist is one of the hottest rappers in the hip-hop game right now with co-signs from the hip-hop heavyweights such Lil Wayne, Drake, and Young Thug, and a Grammy nomination.
But now the 25-year-old, whose real name is Dominique Jones, wants to be paid what he feels he’s worth. In June, the Atlanta rapper tweeted out that he was upping his asking price for featured guest appearances on songs, saying, “At this point it’s safe to say I want 100k for a feature.”
He returned to Twitter on Sunday (July 26) where he doubled down on his stance, declaring that anything less is an offense.
“I’ma feel offended if you want a verse from me but don’t got 100K,” he aired out in since-deleted tweets. “Respect my hustle.” Lil Baby followed up for those doubtful of his cost that “100K is cheap by the way. Do your streaming research.”
To be fair, Lil Baby’s stock has certainly risen. His sophomore album release, My Turn, debuted atop the Billboard 200 chart, dethroning The Weeknd’s After Hours, in May. It spent five weeks in the No. 1 spot. In total, the album has spent 20 weeks in the top 10 thus far, and currently hanging on at No. 4. So, clearly Lil Baby is well worth it.
