Harris for President Announces Activation with BET to Mobilize Voters on National Black Voter Registration Day
To mark Black Voter Registration Day, the Harris-Walz campaign will partner with BET to sponsor a voter activation event in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. On Friday, September 20th, in an effort to ramp up engagements with Black voters across battleground states on the issues that matter to them, the Harris-Walz campaign, Democratic community leaders and BET will be on the ground encouraging Black voters to make a plan to vote. The partnership is part of a broader mobilization effort by the Harris-Walz campaign across all battleground states to empower the Black community to commit to exercising their right to vote this Election Day.
DNC Political Director Brencia Berry on the BET Black Voter Registration Day Activation:
“With less than 50 days until Election Day, the stakes of this election could not be higher for Black America. Donald Trump and MAGA Republicans are hellbent on ripping away our most sacred and hard fought right: the right to vote. Through creative and culturally competent activations like what we are doing today in Philadelphia – we are working to ensure Black Americans understand we simply cannot afford to sit this election out.”
“Vice President Kamala Harris and Governor Tim Walz are working to fulfill the promise of America for us all, especially for communities like ours. The Harris-Walz campaign is fighting for a new way forward, and as Vice President Harris said on the debate stage: we are not going back.”
