Russell Westbrook Shades Marcus Smart During Interview
Russell Westbrook has a knack for delivering classic soundbites when he's annoyed.
After his Oklahoma City Thunder fell to the Boston Celtics, 100-85, on Sunday night, Westbrook obliterated a reporter's notion that Celtics point guard Marcus Smart can match up to him.
Westbrook didn't hold back when a reporter asked him if Smart can “physically can sort of match up with you, to some degree,” and “aas there anything special about the way he played tonight?”
“Uh, no. I don’t agree with you, but no," Westbrook said without any hesitation. "He had a good game…82 games. I do this. Don’t get it twisted.”
When the reporter tried to re-position his thoughts, Westbrook cut him off.
“Don’t get it twisted…We’ll see him again.”
Smart had a team-high 26 points and seemed play good defense against Westbrook during sequences of the game. Still, Westbrook finished with 27 points on poor 5-of-20 shooting night.
Westbrook will face Smart again on March 16.
