Nas Talks Amy Winehouse, Support for Frank Ocean

The rapper thinks fans are now attracted to Ocean’s music for the wrong reasons.

Nas is on the verge of the release of his 10th album, Life Is Good, and the iconic rapper from Queensbridge recently opened up about one of the anticipated project's biggest collaborations. On the track "Cherry Wine," Escobar duets with his late friend and frequent collaborator Amy Winehouse.
“Amy was just one of a kind. We just clicked like that. May she rest in peace,” he told Rap-Up.com on the red carpet of the ESPYs. “She’s watching us, she’s holding me down and I’m holding her down here. It’s just love forever.”
Nas also spoke about Frank Ocean, whom he collaborated on the track "No Such Thing as White Jesus" that was tragically lost in a studio error. From Nas' point of view, hype around the young singer's recent revelations about his sexuality is misguided.
“Everybody’s getting excited about records for the wrong reason,” he said. “Listen to the music. The music is number one.”
Life Is Good is in stores July 17. A new single, "Accident Murderers" featuring Rick Ross, was released last month.
