Kid Cudi Announces New Label, Band Name

Cudi announces new label, drops the Wizard moniker.

Kid Cudi is starting anew for 2011.
During a New York City concert on April 22, the Ohio native announced that he was beginning a new label entitled Wicked Awesome Records. Cudi split with his long-time managers Patrick "Plain Pat" Reynolds and Emile Haynie, as well as their Dream On Records imprint two months ago. Wicked Awesome will be a jointly headed company led by Cudi and producer Dot Da Genius.
"We've been working real hard on this project. I'm really f---in' excited for you to hear it," Cudi said of his forthcoming third album, "Wizard." And despite playing the guitar for just nine months, the mc-cum-singer promised fans "epic" new songs that will still be "wizardry at its finest."
In addition, Cudi's also ditched the band name Wizard in favor of 2 Be Continuum, and aims to release a new single this summer.
