Lil Nas X Documentary to Premiere at Toronto International Film Festival
An intimate look into the life and career of Lil Nas X is headed to the big screen.
Lil Nas X: Long Live Montero will make its debut as part of the gala celebration at the Toronto International Film Festival Sept. 7-17.
The film's official synopsis describes it as a “remarkably intimate portrait of an artist navigating identity, family, expectations and acceptance, all while reflecting on his place within the legacy of Black, queer performers.”
Long Live Montero is co-directed by Carlos López Estrada and Zac Manuel, both Oscar nominees.
The film was shot over 60 days of in-depth access to the star as he prepared for his 2022 Long Live Montero World Tour.
Long Live Montero is produced by RadicalMedia, the company behind the Academy Award-winning documentary Summer of Soul (… Or, When the Revolution Could Not Be Televised).
