‘Killing It’: Craig Robinson Shares His Secret Sauce For A Hilarious Improv
Craig Robinson is truly Killing It in his newest show streaming only on NBC’s Peacock!
The actor, comedian and musician, who is widely known for his role in The Office as Darryl Philbin has been booked and busy ever since he quit his job as a full-time music teacher in his hometown of Chicago.
Killing It, the genre-bending absurdist comedy series, stars Robinson who plays a divorced single father in Florida who has dreams of cashing in the big bucks and will do anything to make his dreams true, even if that means becoming a competitive python snake hunter!
Chatting with BET.com, Robinson shares his secret sauce on how to tap into his improv skills but also seamlessly picking back up his next lines in the script. Listing stand-up comedy, improv and acting classes as a way to tighten up your skills the entertainer says that simply “listening” will actually get you far!
“Listening and reacting. You have to listen,” Robinson shares. “They call it ‘Yes, And’ so you listen, you agree with the acting partner and then you add something to it to you don't negate. You listen, you agree and you help take it to the next level.”
