Niecy Nash And Her Daughter Dia Nash Discuss Love, Relationships, And Dating At Any Age!
In the new content series, Luv2SeeIt, men, and women get candid and discuss their authentic dating stories. Developed by the women-first dating and social networking app, Bumble launched with an all-women production company, The Aunties.
Since appearing on August 10th, the guests have been Lori Harvey and even singing sensation, Jidenna. The latest episode features mommy-daughter-duo Niecy and Dia Nash. The melanin beauties hopped in The Rose Mobile to discuss online dating, never giving up on love, Niecy's previous relationships with men, and how she told her children she was dating Jessica Betts.
The Claws star said, "All my whole life, I've always dated men…, and now, I'm married to a woman. And the most rewarding thing for me is that for the first time, I feel fully seen." Niecy went on to say, "I can now be 100% who I am. I don't have to play small. I don't have to dumb it down. I can be bright, shiny, I can take up space, and it's well received."
More importantly, her love journey taught her daughter, Dia, a thing or two. Dia said, "[My mother taught me] 1. Never give up on love… 2. Believe people when they tell you who they are the first time. 3. Why have one when you can have three!"
That's the beauty of this series. Powerful and influential Black folks varying in genders, skin tones, and sexualities can pull up and help amplify and diversify the narrative of the Black dating experience by sharing their truth.
For example, this nugget from Niecy, "You never give up on what we were created for [love]. What we're trusting is choosing somebody who will restore us quickly when they hurt us." The actress continued, "Not if because they are going to do that. But you gotta pick one that sees it and says, 'I'm so sorry, let me course correct, let me pull up. Give me a chance to get it right."
