Candiace Dillard Bassett Leaves 'The Real Housewives of Potomac' After 6 Seasons
Candiace Dillard Bassett is leaving "The Real Housewives of Potomac."
According to PEOPLE, the reality star has decided not to return for the show's ninth season. The outlet also confirms she chose to leave the franchise on her own.
“As I embark on a new chapter after six remarkable years with "The Real Housewives of Potomac," I am filled with gratitude for the enriching friendships, personal growth and moments of introspection that have defined this journey,” she told the outlet. "With a whirlwind of new opportunities and responsibilities on my plate, I have decided to take a break from RHOP.”
“This is not a farewell, but a ‘see you later,'" she continued.
Dillard Bassett joined the Bravo series in season three in 2018.
During the show's latest season, beef developed between her and former friends and original cast members of the franchise, Robyn Dixon and Gizelle Bryant.
News of her departure comes on the heels of a tease of the show's season eight reunion episode that dropped on Monday (March 25) when she called Dixon a "loser." Dillard Bassett also nodded in agreement when Bryant recalled moments of name-calling she had carried out against her.
While the show had sharp tension, there have also been sweet milestones. In 2018, she tied the knot with her husband, Chris Bassett that was highlighted in the show's fourth season.
Before she entered the reality TV world, this Howard University graduate worked on President Obama's 2012 re-election campaign and won Miss United States in 2013.
She has also worked as an actor and singer, releasing her first album, "Deep Space," in 2021.
