Lil’ Kim Pens Heartfelt Tribute to Voletta Wallace One Month After Her Passing
Lil’ Kim is mourning the loss of Voletta Wallace, the mother of The Notorious B.I.G., in a deeply personal and emotional tribute shared a month after her passing.
On Sunday (March 16), the Queen Bee took to Instagram to reflect on the evolution of their relationship, posting heartfelt text exchanges, photos of Ms. Wallace, and a touching message that underscored their bond.
Though the two had their differences in the years following Biggie’s death, Kim revealed that time—and what she called “God’s work”—helped them reconcile and grow close.
“We spent the last 9-10 years strengthening our relationship… But the last 4-5 years were really special because we started to talk, at least once a month. Then eventually, once a week, then 2-3 times a week,” she wrote.
The “Crush on You” emcee shared how Ms. Wallace often updated her on her flourishing garden, sending pictures of the flowers she nurtured despite occasional struggles with her peonies.
Kim expressed regret that they never got to see each other as planned in 2025, reminiscing about their final conversations. “Once 2025 came in we began to talk again but by this time u were calling me a lot saying we have to see each other and ‘ur the only one I haven’t seen yet.’”
Despite the sadness, Kim found solace in the thought of Ms. Wallace reuniting with her son. “I’m smiling to myself because I can hear u saying ‘MY GOD CHRISTOPHER!! Put that smoke down!!’” she shared. “We lost a phenomenal strong Queen, but we gained a beautiful warrior angel.”
Wallace passed away on February 21, 2025, at the age of 72, due to natural causes while in hospice care at her home in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania.
