Watch: Trailer for Malcolm Washington’s ‘The Piano Lesson’

The drama unfolds on November 22.

The trailer for “The Piano Lesson,” directed and co-written by Malcolm Washington, teases a rich cinematic take on August Wilson's celebrated play. With a powerhouse cast led by John David Washington, Samuel L. Jackson, and “The Harder They Fall” star Danielle Deadwyler, the film revisits a family's turbulent struggle over a prized heirloom: a carved piano embedded with deep ancestral history.

The synopsis reveals, "A battle is brewing in the Charles Household. At the center stands a prized heirloom piano, tearing two siblings apart. On one side, a brother (Washington) plans to build the family fortune by selling it. On the other, a sister (Deadwyler) will go to any lengths to hold onto the sole vestige of the family’s heritage. Their uncle (Jackson) tries to mediate, but even he can’t hold back the ghosts of the past."
