Shonda Rhimes Welcomes Baby Girl, Tiki Barber and Wife Expecting
Shonda Rhimes is a mom again. The Scandal creator welcomed her third child, a baby girl, to her family. Rhimes has two adopted daughters — Harper, adopted in 2002 and Emerson, adopted in 2012 — but hasn't yet shared any details about the birth of her newest bundle of joy.
"Been AWOL from Twitter. I totally have a good reason: TINY HUMAN #3 is here and she's perfect!" the TV superstar tweeted on Wednesday. "Babies are good. Life is good. #2shows3kids." Rhimes' Scandal star Kerry Washington retweeted her news and added "U ROCK!" by way of congratulations.
Adoption has long been a topic close to Rhimes' heart. "I've been writing adoption into story lines on my shows and only a few people close to me knew about my plans," Rhimes said when she welcomed her second child in 2012. "I think the response was, 'Oh, my goodness,' from a lot of people."
Meanwhile, Tiki Barber and his wife, Traci Lynn Johnson, are expecting their first child together, the couple announced on the talk show Bethenny on Thursday. It will be the fifth child for the NFL player-turned-broadcaster, who has four kids from previous relationships. Barber and Johnson were married in a civil ceremony this past July, just eight days after his divorce from wife of 10 years Ginny Barber was finalized.
Congratulations to both happy families!
