Rohan Marley has extended an olive branch to the mother of his five children. Marley announced that he will step up to take responsibility for the offspring that he shares with Lauryn Hill while she's serving a three-month prison sentence for tax evasion. "I will be there for my kids," Marley told TMZ.

Although he has always been in the children's lives, the 40-year-old will amp up the support while their mother's away. "I will be there even more while she is dealing with this … to make sure that everything is fine."
The former couple has agreed to let the children stay with family members, with Marley stepping in to help out as much as possible.
Marley and Hill were together for over a decade yet never married. Together they share five children, ranging from ages 5 to 15, but Hill has been mostly in charge of raising the brood. The ex-Fugee star also has a toddler son, whose father has never been revealed. Since their split in 2009, Marley has gotten engaged to Brazilian model Isabeli Fontana.
In addition to serving time, Hill will pay a $60,000 fine, has been placed on probation and must submit to home confinement. Last week, the "Neurotic Society" rapper made a nearly million dollar emergency payment to the IRS. She was slapped with time for not handling penalties and interest accrued on the bill, which stems from not filing tax returns on $1.8 million in earnings between 2005-2007.
Hill disregarded Uncle Sam after going into seclusion over "manipulation and very real threats to herself and her family."

She must turn herself in to authorities by July 8.
