7-Year-Old Who Crushed The #MbakuChallenge Made Honorary Member Of The Jabari Tribe By Winston Duke
After the tremendous success of Black Panther, fans have created a social media challenge to recreate M'Baku's iconic entrance and battle against T’Challa. Although there was an innumerable amount of #MBakuChallenge participants, one 7-year-old boy’s video was so impressive, it gained the attention of several stars of the Marvel film.
Seven-year-old Jordan Bascombe-Ralph's take on the M'Baku Challenge quickly stood out among the pack and became a viral sensation.
Jordan plays all the characters of the scene and was filmed (and costumed) by his mother, Brittni-Rae Bascombe
Jordan's video was so widely enjoyed, he and his mother were invited to appear on 'Good Morning America'
"It's more than a movie, it's a movement," Bascombe told Good Morning America. "As soon as we watched it, he wanted to go back and see it again. He normally doesn't stay awake through a two-and-a-half hour movies so I knew that something was different about this movie."
In addition to recording a special message for Jordan, Winston Duke, who plays M'Baku, tweeted a message, welcoming Jordan to the Jabari tribe
"Jordan, I, M'Baku, wish to make you an honorary member of my tribe," Duke said. "Thank you for killing the M'Baku Challenge. You are amazing, I love you, you are amazing."
"Thank you for participating and making such an amazing video, I couldn't have done it better myself," he added. "You did everyone's voice! So cool. Thank you, thank your family, you guys are awesome. Bless."
