Wendy Williams Will Not Return To TV This Fall
The ongoing saga involving the television industry and Wendy Williams has hit an impasse.
According to Page Six, the embattled TV talk show host has been emphatic that she’ll be back in her storied purple chair this September. But the production company, Debmar-Mercury, states that it is “logistically impossible” for her to do so.
For starters, The View alum Sherri Shepherd has already signed a deal with Debmar-Mercury, which will see her taking over Williams’ time slots. “Where’s she gonna go? It’s done. Logistically, it won’t work. Sherri has her time slots,” an insider told Page Six.
Williams, who recently sat down with Fat Joe on IG Live for a chat, insisted that she’ll “absolutely” be returning, and that she won’t be tuning in for Shepherd’s show.
“I’m coming back to ‘The Wendy Williams Show.’ Absolutely. Absolutely,” she told the rapper, who has been filling in with Remy Ma as a guest-host during Williams’ absence.
