‘Very Healthy’ Young M.A. Breaks Silence on Leaked Hospital Video
Young M.A. is making it clear—she’s not here for the unnecessary drama. The Brooklyn rapper has responded after an old hospital video of her surfaced online, allegedly leaked by her ex-girlfriend.
The footage, recorded initially two years ago, shows Young M.A. in a visibly weakened state, with yellowed eyes and IVs attached. Her ex, known as @itsmselfmade on Instagram, claimed she stepped in as a caretaker during a difficult time in the rapper’s life, but the relationship ultimately crumbled due to control struggles and jealousy.
The decision to post such a deeply personal clip sparked immediate backlash, with many accusing the ex of clout-chasing at Young M.A.’s expense.
In response to the video's release, the “Open Scars” rapper expressed her disappointment, stating, “I just feel like that was just so foul. I don’t even know how a person could have the urge or willing to want to even do something like that.”
She further reflected on the individual’s character, stating, “I just never knew this was her character. But people be people sometimes, and you just never know, and it is what it is.”
The rapper emphasized that her past health struggles are not a source of shame, acknowledging, “This is real. I went through a time in my life that was real dark, but I’m good now. I’m very healthy, and my supporters know that.”
Concerns about the now 32-year-old’s health first arose in 2023 when a video surfaced showing her appearing unwell during a barbershop visit.
Addressing the situation in her 2024 track “Watch,” she rapped, “Thought that I was dying when they seen me with those yellow eyes... Surprise motherf—kers, I’m alive. God wasn’t finished with me.”
The recent leak has ignited outrage on social media, with fans slamming the rapper’s ex for overstepping boundaries. One supporter summed up the frustration, writing, “What Young MA’s ex pulled is SO foul and corny. If you genuinely care for someone, it don’t matter what the fall out consists of, some s–t you just don’t expose.”
