YNW Melly Calls In From Jail To Send A Message To His Fans
Despite currently being locked up and facing life behind bars, YNW Melly had a message of support for his fans as he awaits the next progression of his murder case. On Thursday (May 16), his management shared a phone call between him and rapper Tonk Wit Tha Gift on Instagram.
Speaking from behind bars, the 20-year-old rapper addressed his fans directly in a chat that went on for about 35 seconds.
"Y’all know who it is,” he began. “I just want to let all my fans know that God is real and Jesus is real. He has anointed my healing with oil. He has cleansed my soul. He has blessed me. The reason y'all love me and everybody love me is because of y'all. He gave me that gift."
In a notably upbeat tone, the Mixed Personalities rapper shared that he could possibly be getting out of jail soon and thanked his fans for the "prayers and positive energy being sent his way."
"[God] is the reason I’m coming home, nobody else," he continued. "I love y’all so much. I thank God for all of y'all everyday. Thank y'all for keeping me in y'all prayers.”

The emerged rap artist, real name Jamell Maurice Demons, is currently facing the death penalty after he was charged with two counts of first-degree murder for the deaths of his close friends, 21-year-old Anthony Williams and 19-year-old Christopher Thomas Jr. Police accused Melly of shooting the two men and staging it to look like a drive-by shooting.
Melly pleaded not guilty to the charges and has since maintained innocence despite police-led investigations connecting him to their deaths. His legal team is currently appealing the prosecutor's decision.
Melly currently remains behind bars at Broward County Jail without a release date.
