Tweeting from @GiveBloodNHS, the center explained their request was based in science, not racism
People who denounce the social construct of race have often used the argument 'we all have the same blood'

However, our blood is, in fact, not the same
Through a series of tweets, the center broke down the science of blood type
They then explained that they asked for Black donors because they are more likely to have something called Ro blood

Ro blood is unique in the sense that it can be used in transfusions for people with sickle cell disease
And the center could not ask for Ro donors because no one would understand what they meant
Moral of the story, everyone should give blood, especially black people
