The Things We Do for Love: Michelle Obama Gets Stuck
There's little doubt that First Lady Michelle Obama's Easter Sunday outfit will live up to every fashionista's expectations. But will it be as fun to wear as the floral stickers 20-month-old Lily Oppelt placed on her face during an Easter card-making session for military families this week?
"I love it," responded the first lady to her new look.
Lily and 13 other children, ranging in age from 6 months to 8 years old, participated in the pre-Easter arts and crafts session at the Fisher House in Maryland, which provides a home away from home for the families of wounded warriors receiving care at the Walter Reed Medical Center and other nearby military hospitals.
"This is the best part of my day – with so many great families, you guys. But more importantly, I get to shine a light on you all, our military families and our military kids," the first lady said. "Because you all are our heroes, especially our kids."
Obama brought with her a basket of cookies in the shape of the White House and family dogs Bo and Sunny, who tagged along for the visit. She also gave the children and their families tickets to attend the annual White House Easter Egg Roll next Monday.
