2023 NAACP Image Awards: Check Out the Beautifully Blended Sounds of Chris Brown and Wizkid
Veteran singer and songwriter Chris Brown earned his fourth NAACP Image Awards win during the 54th annual event, which took place live on Saturday, February 25, and was hosted by award-winning rapper and actress Queen Latifah.
Brown took home the trophy for “Outstanding Duo, Group or Collaboration (Contemporary)” for his single “Call Me Every Day,” featuring frequent collaborator and Afrobeats star Wizkid. The two singers beat out the likes of City Girls and Usher with their effort “Good Love,” Drake, Future, and rising Nigerian singer Tems for “Wait For U” and plenty more.

From his third studio album, Sounds from the Other Side, “African Bad Gyal” found Wizkid and Brown again, this time as a duo. Furthermore, Brown shines on the record, seamlessly adding his r&b influences to this smash hit.

“Call Me Every Day” is the pair’s third single together, proving their musical chemistry is very successful. Accolades include an NAACP Image Awards win and the number 20 spot on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip Hop Songs.
