Atlanta’s turn up rap star iLoveMakonnen has got Twitter going up on a Friday (Jan. 20) after he revealed that he is gay.

According to Makonnen, the news might be new to us, but old to him. Proclaiming himself a “fashion icon,” he believes that now is as good a time as any to step out of his sexuality closet and speak his truth.

“As a fashion icon, I can't tell u about everybody else's closet, I can only tell u about mine, and it's time I've come out,” he tweeted. “And since y'all love breaking news, here's some old news to break: I'm gay. And now I've told u about my life, maybe u can go life yours.”

While many fans tipped their hat to the former OVO Sound signee, some suggested that it wasn’t the most shocking news because — well, they already knew.

What might drop jaws, however, is Makonnen’s seemingly joking presumption that iconic radio host Charlamagne the God has his sights set on the “Tuesday” rapper. In the video, which has fittingly surfaced from April 2016, he jeers that the “radio guy” called him a lesbian all because he has a crush on him.

“Charlamagne’s got a crush on me. He do, all of them dark-skinned boys be having a crush on me. It’s crazy. Ask him what his skin regimen is though because I need some of that.”

After a few shots at Charlamagne’s much-talked-about skincare, he then sent a hopeful message that he’d one day be invited to sit down with the Power 105.1 radio show trio.

“Tell Charlamagne to call my phone or check my Periscope sometime. I hope that Charlamagne will call me up to that Breakfast Club sometime, they're scared. They're scared because they know I got the mouth of the South, I’ll be talking that sh** right back. He don’t wanna get shut down on his own show.”

Well, that’d be one Breakfast Club interview we wouldn’t want to miss.
