Ken Griffey Jr. Recreates Rookie Card in Macklemore's 'Downtown' Video
Macklemore just snuck one of the greatest baseball players ever into his music video...and it's a great look for Seattle.
Ken Griffey Jr. makes a cameo in the rapper's "Downtown" video, which hit the Internet on Thursday. In the clip, Griffey recreates his 1989 Upper Deck rookie baseball card look and catches a huge fish in Seattle's landmark Pike Place Market.
Griffey's cameo makes sense, considering he spent 1989 through 1999 with the Seattle Mariners to start his Hall of Fame-bound career and Macklemore is Seattle's hip hop star.
Griffey's 630 home runs puts him at No. 6 on the MLB all-time list, he's also a 13-time All-Star with 10 Gold Glove Awards to his name. Nice touch by Macklemore to include Griffey in his latest colorful clip.
In addition to sports royalty, "Downtown" also features cameos from rap legends Kool Moe Dee, Grandmaster Caz and Melle Mel.
