Hip-Hop Reacts To Laura Ingraham's Nipsey Hussle Commentary

"We will not be accepting any apology from her...we want her fired, PERIOD!!!"

Conservative political commentator Laura Ingraham could be counting down her last days as one of the faces of Fox News after her insensitive remarks and reaction to the thousands of supporters and fans present at the homegoing service and procession of Nipsey Hussle.

Last Thursday (April 11), the late hip-hop artist and beloved community altruist, whose legacy is now archived as U.S. history in America’s Congressional Record, was laid to rest in a Celebration of Life service open to family, friends and fans at L.A.’s Staples Center. In her discussion of the outstanding turnout for Nipsey’s memorial service, the 55-year-old conservative talk show host highlighted his “F**k Donald Trump (FDT)” song—which actually belongs to YG with Nipsey as a featured artist. She then proceeded to play a clip from the “FDT” music video which only shows YG in the clip and is sarcastically (and incorrectly) titled “Nipsey Hussle’s Wholesome Song Featuring President Donald Trump.” Ingraham and her co-host for The Ingraham Angle show then laughed at and mocked the visual as the clip from the segment concludes with her asking of the track, “Is that related to the lowest unemployment ever for African-Americans?”

In addition to the sheer utterance of Nipsey’s name from her mouth, the insensitive remarks set off a firestorm of backlash from hip-hop fans and The Ingraham Show viewers alike, who slammed her for the comments and attitude in light of Nipsey’s legacy, especially amid such a sensitive time.

  • It wasn’t long before hip-hop’s most vocal defenders and one of Nip’s closest West Coast brothers, Game, jumped in as well.

Calling for the firing of Ingraham, T.I., Busta Rhymes and several others banded together against her crass behavior on the segment. The Born to Rap artist even sent a fair warning to the folks over at Fox: “So lemme tell you what’s going to happen here,” Game wrote. “[Fox News] fires this disrespectful c**t by tomorrow, Monday morning or you will lose millions of viewers one person at a time until it drastically effects your ratings, views etc...” He added that an apology issued by Ingraham nor the network would not suffice, and the pressure he and the rest of his counterparts would place on Fox’s neck won’t let up until she receives her pink slip. “There is a power in that, that will be used & action will be taken from now going forward,” he continued. “We will not be accepting any apology from her... we want her fired, PERIOD!!!”

  • And according to the rest of hip-hop, he’s coming with an army for his requests, too. See who else spoke out against Ingraham and the internet’s seconding for Game’s sentiments below.
