50 Cent Teases "New Cosby Show" With Phylicia Rashad
Television boss Curtis“50 Cent” Jackson is eyeballing another potential good show idea.
Earlier this week, the Power creator took to his Instagram account, where he revealed his longtime crush, veteran actress Phylicia Rashad.
“I have had a crush on @phyliciarashad for forever,” 50 wrote alongside a screenshot of the Huxtable family, with Rashad’s Clair Huxtable actors Sabrina Le Beauf who played Clair’s eldest daughter Sandra and her TV husband Elvin Tibideaux, portrayed by actor Geoffrey Owens. Owens plays the attorney for another 50 Cent-developed project, Power: Book II.
“I don’t know, she can talk with her eyes,” the “21 Questions” emcee continued. “She was just it, I think it was the ‘Cosby Show.’ It was the only representation of Black love on TV. I gotta make us a new one.”
The rapper-turned-producer has seen much success since venturing into film and television and doesn’t appear to be slowing down anytime soon. Earlier this month, he announced a new series on Starz called Queen Nzinga.
The show is described as an “African warrior drama” and will star American Gods’ Yetide Badaki in the lead role. Badaki will also serve as one of the show’s executive producer, alongside Jackson, Steven S. DeKnight, and Mo Abudu. Queen Nzinga is based in 17th century Angola, and it will follow Badaki's character's transformation from an innocent princess to a fearless warrior.
