The cat is (finally) out of the bag!

Congratulations are in order for Halle Bailey and her boyfriend, rapper DDG, as Bailey announced on social media on Saturday (Jan. 6) that they have indeed welcomed their first child.

“Even though we’re a few days into the new year, the greatest thing that 2023 could have done for me, was bring me my son.. welcome to the world my halo. The world is desperate to know you,” Bailey posted on her Instagram, along with a photo of her hand holding that of her son. The baby is also seen sporting a gold nameplate bracelet around his tiny wrist. A third hand anchors the two underneath and we can only speculate that it belongs to DDG.

“The Color Purple” and “Little Mermaid” actresses and DDG (otherwise known as Darryl Dwayne Grandberry Jr.) have been an item since March 2022, according to PEOPLE. The couple went public with their relationship when they showed up to the Usher residency together in Las Vegas. By June 2022, they were at the BET Awards together, looking amazing on the red carpet. 

Bailey kept the majority of her pregnancy under wraps, but fans have been speculating for months whether or not the R&B songstress was expecting her first child. The couple did their best to stave off pregnancy rumors, but last week, the "I'm Geekin'" rapper took to social media with a few snaps that had people ready to put their speculation to rest.

DDG may have been hiding the truth in plain sight when he posted a photo on Snapchat of him holding a baby in his arms. While taking a closer look, users on the app quickly realized the baby was a baby doll.

In the second photo, the Michigan-bred performer is seen smiling from ear to ear while holding a toddler, not an infant.

"She's finally here," he posted, followed by a red heart and watery eyes emoji.

The joke was on us the whole time since Baily, 23, and DDG, 26, have now confirmed that they are actually parents to a newborn son, Halo.

Other celebrities took to Bailey's post to offer the new mom well wishes. Halle Berry posted, "Congratulations, Halle. Welcome to motherhood and welcome to the world baby Halo ❤️." Taraji P. Henson posted, "Congrats my baby💜💜💜🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾💋💋💋." Jurnee Smolett posted, "Congratulations mama!!!! The greatest blessing indeed." Niecy Nash Betts posted, "Ready to babysit 💙💙💙💙." Serena Williams posted, "Love you already Halo!"
